Beyond the Red Sky

In the annals of the space-bound conflicts that defined the post-Earth era, the name Tekkadan was just beginning to reach the ears of those paying attention. Born from the ashes of CGS (Chryse Guard Security), a group of child soldiers led by Orga Itsuka made a historic decision: to break free from the control of their adult superiors and form an independent military organization.

In a context scarred by the legacy of the Calamity War and the corruption of the military organization Gjallarhorn, the emergence of Tekkadan was more than an organizational shift—it was a political and social declaration. Their alliance with the Martian aristocrat Kudelia Aina Bernstein, a passionate advocate for Martian labor rights, marked their first bold step in a journey poised to upset the geopolitical balance between Earth and its colonies.

Departure: The Journey to the Mother Planet

On the fifth day after Tekkadan’s formation, the group embarked on its first strategic mission: escorting Kudelia from Chryse to Earth, where she intended to negotiate directly with Earth representatives for Mars’s economic emancipation. For the young fighters, the mission wasn’t merely a contract—it was a symbol of their newfound military and political maturity.

Their ship, the Isaribi—an aging but functional space corvette—became both their new home and the stronghold of their aspirations. Spirits were quiet yet hopeful. Orga, their charismatic leader, projected unwavering confidence, though hidden beneath that resolve lay the weight of decisions he had yet to understand. Mikazuki Augus, pilot of the fearsome Gundam Barbatos, remained characteristically silent: an imperturbable warrior ready to carry out any order without hesitation.

Echoes of the Past: Gjallarhorn Makes Its Move

But not everyone watched their journey passively. Within Gjallarhorn’s upper ranks, Tekkadan’s independence and Kudelia’s radical rhetoric posed an intolerable threat to the established order. Thus, the local Gjallarhorn unit stationed near Mars—led by the cunning McGillis Fareed and his companion Gaelio Bauduin—resolved to act.

What should have been a routine transit turned into a covert military operation: the ambush of the Isaribi in the Martian orbit before it could reach Earth’s atmosphere.

The plan was straightforward—neutralize or capture Kudelia, dismantle Tekkadan’s core, and send a silent yet firm message that rebellion, no matter how youthful, would not go unpunished.

Beneath the Crimson Sky: The Battlefield

The confrontation began when the Isaribi detected hostile activity near its route. Orga, acting on military instinct, ordered Barbatos to launch as the vanguard. Mikazuki, as always, obeyed without question, diving into the battle with chilling calm.

Space, tinted red by sunlight refracted through cosmic dust, became the theater of a fierce engagement. Gjallarhorn deployed two state-of-the-art mobile suits, with Gaelio piloting his blue Schwalbe Graze. Despite the Barbatos still being in a transitional configuration, Mikazuki once again proved capable of turning mechanical disadvantage into tactical supremacy.

The duel between Gaelio and Mikazuki was more than physical—it was ideological. While Gaelio fought with the pride of Earth’s nobility, Mikazuki fought with the cold efficiency of someone battling for the survival of his own. The crimson sky bore silent witness to the moment when the resolve of a boy eclipsed the experience of a nobleman.

Strategy and Trust: Orga’s Hand at Play

Aboard the Isaribi, Orga was forced to make decisions under extreme pressure. As the enemy threatened to break through their defenses, the leader of Tekkadan demonstrated surprising tactical maturity. He delegated tasks, motivated the crew, and ensured Kudelia’s safety.

It was then that Kudelia—until that point a passive figure within the operation—began to understand the true cost of her cause. Watching boys barely into adolescence risk their lives for her protection gave her mission a deeper meaning. It was no longer merely a political crusade; it became a solemn commitment to those who had placed their faith in her.

Tactical Withdrawal: A Moral Victory

Despite Gjallarhorn’s technological superiority, the ambush was repelled. Mikazuki, with surgical precision, managed to temporarily neutralize the enemy suits. McGillis’s unexpected decision to disengage his forces—his motives ambiguous—resulted in a withdrawal that left Tekkadan battered but intact.

While not a clear-cut military victory, Tekkadan achieved the unthinkable: they withstood a direct assault from a vastly superior force and lived to tell the tale. To many, this cemented their status not merely as rebellious youth, but as an emerging military force. Beneath Mars’s crimson sky, the world witnessed a new generation of fighters rise to challenge the titans of the old regime.

The day after the battle was filled with silence. The members of Tekkadan—still young and unseasoned—began to realize that the romance of war fades quickly in the face of death. Yet instead of retreating, the experience only solidified their resolve.

Orga, in private, acknowledged the emotional cost of his decisions. Mikazuki continued his routine, displaying no outward emotion. For him, each battle was simply another step down a path he had chosen long ago, without hesitation.

Kudelia, deeply affected by what she witnessed, renewed her commitment to her cause. She understood now that words alone would not suffice: she had to act, negotiate, resist—and above all, live—to truly change the world.

History would not record this first mission merely as a logistical maneuver. It would remember it as the baptism by fire of an organization that would come to alter the course of the future. Under the name Tekkadan, the war orphans began to write a new narrative—one where power was not inherited, but earned through conviction.

“Beyond the Crimson Sky” was not just a moment of battle. It was the instant when the will of the forgotten broke through into the realm of the powerful, demanding to be acknowledged.

And this was only the beginning.
